| You may have heard of Bottle Tree Village in Sembawang, now there is
a new Bottle
Tree Park, a private park, in Yishun. It is located just opposite Yishun Stadium. 7ha park
includes restaurants, a small pond which allows children to catch fish with those small green net, prawning pond and fishing pond among others. Relax and enjoy Australian flora like Grasstrees and Bottle Trees and bask in the company of your friends and colleague with the numerous activities available.
 The Bottle Trees are native to Southeast Queensland, Australia. It is prized for
it's unique shape - 'bottle-like' swollen trunk. They grow up to 40 feet (12 meters) in the wild. Each tree has its own unique shaped and form, they each have a character of its own. The trunk may excrete
sap during wet weather.
It
takes 30 to 40 years for a tree to reach a trunk diameter of 1 meter. For it to reach a trunk diameter of 2 meters, the tree will need to live to a ripe old age of between 80 to 100 years old.
These
Bottle Tees can be found in Bottle Tree Park, leased for eight years, which cost $30,000 each. The Park is opened in December 2006.
This park took 2.5 years to build from scratch. In 2005, when Bottle Tree Pte Ltd first learnt about the availability of a plot of land opposite the current Yishun Stadium for lease, Mr. Alex Neo, Mr. Colin Chia and Mr. Robin Yan immediately jumped on the chance to realise their dream and tendered for the land.
What used to be forest and scrubs is now transformed into a beautiful serene sanctuary boasting a restaurant, a pond, kampung-style buildings, mini-zoo, basketball and volleyball courts, an obstacle course, a paintball field and more!
