Discover dome shape arches decorated with glass that illuminates like giant diamonds arranged according to the form of the traditional Islamic 'Muqarnas'. This design from Esfahan, Iran forms larger brusque patterns at the bottom to symbolise the seven layers of the sky. The 'Muqarnas' can be seen at the lobby entrance, lift lobby and soffit of the tower head.

For those seeking Adventure and adrenalin-rush activities, Menara Kuala Lumpur is known as the World Basejump Centre. The Tower has hosted the longest-running urban BASE (Building, Antenna, Span, Earth) event since 1999 and it is now the largest event of its kind in the world. Another signature event of the tower, KL Tower Forest Towerthon, in which every year race starts from the main entrance up through the challenging staircases to the finishing line at a height of 288 meters.
Menara Kuala Lumpur was completed in May 1996 and was open to the public on 23 July 1996. It was officially launched 1st October 1996, by Y.A. Bhg Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia. Located atop Bukit Nanas, Menara Kuala Lumpur was built, blending the tower seamlessly with nature. Bukit Nanas is one of the oldest permanent forest reserves in Malaysia. It was gazetted in 1906 and was formerly known as Bucket Weld Forest Reserve. Covering an area of approximately 9.37 hectares, Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is the only remaining virgin tropical rainforest in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur. Serving as the green lung of the city, Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is also home to an abundant of flora and fauna of the Malaysian tropical rainforest. In fact, Menara Kuala Lumpur is the only tower in the world located within a forest!
